Fuel Tank Leak, Major Motorway

Location: Sydney Motorway.

The NA Group emergency response call out service received a call at 3 a.m. on a Sunday morning, reporting a truck accident on a major Sydney motorway. The incident caused a fuel leak into the pavement that needed our urgent repairs.

The emergency response team quickly arrived at the incident location and assessed that the fuel tank leak was at two separate locations that were 600 metres apart.

An extensive plan was designed by our team that outlined the resources, materials and crew required to complete the project. NA Group was able to get the plant equipment needed to undertake resheeting of the motorway immediately to slow the motorway to reopen as soon as possible. NA Group utilised our asphalt supply, lay and milling services to restore the affected surfaces. Our experienced and skilled emergency response and asphalt teams managed and delivered every part of the restoration plan adequately and the road was reopened at 2 p.m. the same day of the incident.

The project was completed safely while surpassing NA Group and our client’s quality specifications. The road was restored and open to drivers within a few hours, minimising traffic build up and inconvenience to the public.

The NA Group emergency response call out service is available 24/7 on 1300 276 928.
