President Avenue and Kingsway, Caringbah

This intersection upgrade was designed to improve traffic travel time, reliability and level of service (LOS). The project required an additional right turn lane from the Kingsway (south bound) into President Avenue.

NA Group were appointed for the project and we completed the following works:

• The removal of existing traffic splitter island at the intersection, construction of a new island at the updated location.
• The modification of traffic signals which involved the relocation of existing and installation of additional traffic signals.
• Completion of new road line markings.
• Installation of the new road furniture signage and posts.

Project Challenges

• Nightworks required due to the busy location.
• Unexpected resolution required for asbestos pipe and shallow utility service obstructions.
• Time critical project due to busy road and the need to have the road open as soon as possible.

Resolving the Challenges
NA Group resolved the challenges of the works by detailed planning and phasing of the works throughout the project. This ensured that the different stages of the project flowed smoothly and that any unexpected problems were resolved successfully, ensuring that the project was completed on time.

Key Outcomes
Dual right turning lanes were completed successfully from the Kingsway into President Avenue (south bound). This upgrade improves traffic flow at a busy intersection. The project was safely completed with zero incidents or accidents.
